SLCM Group as a Responsible Corporate Citizen has taken several initiatives through its CSR Programs to lessen the huge gap of disparity in the Society. The Group has diversified its activities to the areas of Stakeholder’s Development, Empowering Communities, Sustenance of Senior Citizens, Childcare Development, Education & Skill Development and Environment.
The Group organizes Rozgar Camps in rural areas across India wherein farmers & their younger generations are imparted training on ways to increase the yield per hectare or other related information without any charge. In addition to free training, as per their choice; SLCM offers on-site jobs pan India to enhance their quality of life. With the idea of making them self sufficient, we either help them to increase their income levels by increasing the yield or give them opportunity to enter into the corporate world by placing them in SLCM as Warehouse Managers or Supervisors.
SLCM also launched a program in 2013 wherein the farmers were entitled to Free Storage of Grains in SLCM warehouses. Free storage schemes were launched specifically at the time of harvest when we saw that farmers have grains but either have no storage area or do not have money to support their storage needs. Initially, it was launched in Ganj Basoda, MP in 2013 and in Barabanki, UP in the year 2014.
SLCM Group has adopted a village in-line with the Prime Minister’s initiative. The Group has adopted the remote and marginalized Gram Panchayat named Ichauli of Puredelai block in district Barabanki. In the first phase this year, SLCM would provide relief to women, children & youth of the district..
The idea behind the program is upliftment of the village in the areas of healthcare, education, nutrition & income levels of the households. Our partnership with NGO, People's Action for National Integration - PANI will achieve the goal of improving women’s health, skill development of women & youth for better livelihood options, health of infants & education of children.
The Group provided scholarship to 12 underprivileged girls for their college & school fees for one year on the occasion of 70th Independence Day.
The Group supports for the education of orphan & abandoned children living in SOS Villages to improve their health, nutrition, food security & livelihood status. The Group supports for the expenses of 24 children from SOS Children’s Village – Bhawana, Delhi for their education, extracurricular activities & livelihood needs.
Our support has helped children in Holistic Development, Improving their Academic Performance and build-up their self esteem.
With the vision to enable the sustenance of senior citizens; the Group supports for food, medicines & toiletries for 250 Abandoned Senior Citizens living in Gurukul Ashram in Bandwari Village, Faridabad managed by The Earth Saviours Foundation. The Group has also donated a car to pick up rescues from roads, take them to hospitals, take them to yatras & other related works of the NGO.
Additionally, SLCM also donated food material like oil, flour, pulses, rice, etc. for the senior citizens living in Gurukul.
SLCM Group nurtures and sponsors many projects designed to educate, employ and empower women and youth of the country.
In 2015, the Group had conducted non-formal Education Classes, Adult Literacy Program & Support Classes for drop out children & married women to bridge gap in the education system in Gautam Budh Nagar – Greater Noida, UP. Support classes were given to children to bring them to mainstream schools & adults were made literate as part of the program in partnership with MBT.
In 2015, with the thought to generate employment opportunities in the society; the Group initiated vocational training courses in Computer Application, Beauty Culture, Handicrafts, Skill Development Program in Tagore Garden, New Delhi through partnership with UVCT. About 70 people enrolled for Computer Education classes, 60 girls enrolled for Beauty Culture course, 30 people were enrolled for Handicrafts & 20 people were enrolled for Life Skills Development Program & got placements in Corporate Houses further.
Addressing the major problem of global warming & depleting green cover, SLCM has planted 500 saplings in over 1.5 acre in INA Veterans Memorial Forest & its maintenance at Panchgaon, Manesar. The Group supported for the drip irrigation of these saplings that will become a green lung for the rapidly expanding metropolis of Gurgaon.
